Look Who's Sitting Like A Big Girl!

We experienced another first with Laylah today!  I met a friend & her two children for lunch & a park date & while at lunch Laylah tried sitting in a high chair for the first time.  It was a huge success!  She loved having her own seat & being at the same height as everyone else.  I think the smile on her face in these pictures says it all...

Police Station Tour

The Mom's Club put together another wonderful field trip for the kids, this time to the Yuma Police Department! Landon's favorite part of t
he tour was getting to see all of the different vehicles that the police use. They had out their Motorcycles, Trucks, Car, Specialty Trucks & of course the Four Wheelers for the sand dunes here in Yuma! The kids were able to explore all of the different vehicles & pretend to drive them. I of course had to snap a few pictures! Hopefully this will be the only time I see my son in the back of a SWAT truck or police car! ha ha!
The police officers also checked the car seats for all of us Mom's to make sure they were installed properly & all our kiddos are safe! Great Job Yuma Police Department!!! Thanks!

Fire Station Tour!

On April 11th The Mom's Club put together a fun & educational trip to the Fire Station. Luckily Mark didn't have to go into work until later in the afternoon, so I was able to leave Laylah home with Mark while Landon & I had a Mommy/Son Fun Day! Landon was very excited about the tour & couldn't wait to see the actual Fire Truck up close! The tour started with an educational video on the dangers of fire & I was surprised with how well Landon sat & listened. After the video he recapped the entire cartoon for me over & over again ;-) I was very proud of his listening skills though, so I just let me tell me over & over again!

After the video we took a tour of the inside of the Fire Station & were able to see where the Fire Fighters sleep & work. Then the fun began when we went outside to see the Fire Trucks & Ambulance. The Fire Fighters opened up all the vehicles & the kids were allowed inside to check everything out! Landon had a blast playing with the water hoses, sitting on the truck, checking out all the medical equipment & hearing the emergency sirens! They actually had two emergency calls come in while we were there so the kids were able to watch & hear them take off twice! It was a great tour & we both had a wonderful time!

Easter 2012

We celebrated Easter with a wonderful brunch at the Hilton followed by family fun at the Yuma Fair!
The Champagne Brunch @ the Hilton was very yummy & Landon really enjoyed the Chocolate Fondue! The Easter Bunny was there to greet the kids & they had an Easter Egg Hunt & also an Easter Egg Decorating Table to entertain the kids. It was a very nice spending some quality family time together (and not having any dishes or messes to clean up afterwards!).

Luckily it was a very nice day so we enjoyed the afternoon outside at the Yuma Fair. Landon had a great time going on some rides & enjoying some yummy fair food!

It was a wonderful Easter & the kids looked adorable! The easter bunny also brought Landon his very own iPod Touch, which made his day!

Cupcakes & Colored Eggs

On April 7th when Laylah finally went down for her nap I was able to spend some wonderful quality time with my little man. I let Landon stay awake instead of taking his daily nap & we started our work in the kitchen. Landon loves helping Mommy in the kitchen! We started with making the Easter Cupcakes. Landon helped with every step. First he mixed the cake batter, then filled the cupcake holder with papers & even poured in the cake batter (a little messy but worth the smile on his face).
As we waited for the cupcakes to bake in the oven we started on our Easter Eggs! Landon was very excited to color some eggs & picked out a special color for each of us. Daddy had blue, Mommy had yellow, Laylah had pink & Landon picked green! He did an awesome job rolling the eggs in the dye until they were just right.
As we let our eggs dry it was time to frost & decorate our cupcakes. Landon went to work frosting his cupcake with strawberry whipped frosting & as soon as the first one was frosted...in his mouth it went! He didn't waste any time getting a taste of his hard work!

After he was finished with his cupcake we frosted the rest & then Landon decorated all of them. He was so proud of all of his hard work & I was so proud to have such an amazing time with my son! This is the kind of quality time I look forward to the most. Love my sweet boy!!!

The Healy's Came to Visit!

On April 4, 2012 our wonderful friends The Healy's came to visit us. Landon loves playing with Bailey & Rian so he was super excited for their arrival. Miss Laylah was looking forward to her visit with Everett (they were born only 16 days apart) and are both adorable together! I was looking forward to some much needed girl time with Nikki (oh & the wine didn't hurt either!). The kids had a great time playing outside together in the tree house & on the swings. They also made a huge pile of pillow pets to jump in & have a pillow fight with! Nikki & the kids also came with us to my "Mom's Club Easter Celebration" which was at Sanguinetti Park. They all played at the park, had an Easter egg hunt, & enjoyed some yummy food. We are very blessed to have such wonderful friends (family) in our lives. It was a wonderful visit & we look forward to the next one!
